About Jessica Schnebly

I have had a camera in my hands since I was nine. My first camera was a 110 Vivitar (remember those?). My equipment and I have advanced a lot since then.

I followed my childhood passion and ultimately earned a bachelor's degree in photography from Southern Illinois University. After college, I moved to St. Louis and began working in advertising at Famous Barr Co. I started as a digital retoucher and later was promoted to studio photographer. I primarily shot table top images for direct mail, newspaper, and magazine ads.

In 2004, I left St. Louis and moved to Phoenix. There I began work as a fashion photographer for Dillard's, Inc. I worked with models of all ages in-studio and on-location. One of my favorite shoots involved a female model wearing a swimsuit and standing on a sailboat in the cold rain (see my fashion work by clicking 'gallery').

In August 2008, with 8 years of professional photography experience, I returned to the Midwest and now reside in Springfield, IL, and have lots of family and friends nearby and in St. Louis. I am excited to once again be closer to all of them and to be back in familiar surroundings. Now that I am back, I look foward to using my photography skills to capture life's extraordinary moments (e.g., births, graduations, weddings) as well as create beautiful and unique portraits that remind us of the times and places in our lives.
